Alex groans and flops down into a chair at one of the empty tables, stretching her legs out and pulling at her tie and collar.  

“Can we go home already?  We have a very important weekend of not having to wear pants for two whole days to get started on.”

Sam pats the top of her head blindly, somehow still standing easily in her heels as if she hasn’t been on her feet the whole night, wooing investors and networking her way through the room and settling handshake deals left and right for L Corp, scanning the mostly-emptied room that’s currently only filled with event staff starting the cleanup.

“I just need to confirm a few things with Lena.”  

“Home,” Alex whines out, head dropping tiredly against Sam’s side.  “Lena can wait until–”

“Oh, there she– oh,” Sam trails off.  

“What?” Alex drags herself up to sitting, craning her neck around until she can follow Sam’s gaze to where Lena’s appeared from a hallway, hair loose and jacket slung lazily over one shoulder, bowtie undone, shoes in hand, shirt half undone in a wholly unprofessional manner and a dusting of fresh bruising forming on her–

“Scandalous, Luthor,” Sam says, folding her arms over her chest and grinning widely at her.  “At a work event, no less.”

“Is that a hickey on your– oh, God, I did not need to see that,” Alex groans out.  “Put those away!”

Lena doesn’t say anything to either of them, simply raising an eyebrow instead and sauntering past.  Ten seconds later, Kara appears from the same hallway, slightly more put together but cheeks red and jacket rumpled, and Alex slaps a hand over her eyes and lets out a pained yelp.
